Frequently asked questions

Common questions about how PickNDeal's route-delivery model works. If your question isn't here, the marketplace and pillar pages have more detail.

What is a route / group order on PickNDeal?

A route is a specific delivery trip a Danish farmer announces in advance — e.g. "Saturday June 14th I'm delivering fresh vegetables across Greater Copenhagen." Consumers and restaurants reserve their individual orders from the route's load until bookings close. The farmer consolidates the orders and runs the route on the announced day. It's not a shared box — you choose exactly what you want from what that farmer is offering that week.

Which areas does PickNDeal cover right now?

Active routes run in Greater Copenhagen (Storkøbenhavn), Sjælland, and Lolland in 2026. Other Danish regions — Fyn, Midtjylland, Østjylland, Nordjylland, Bornholm, Odsherred, Nordsjælland — have landing pages but no routes yet. Check the marketplace for currently open routes, or join the waitlist to be notified when the first route opens in your postcode.

Is PickNDeal a meal-kit subscription?

No. PickNDeal is not a subscription service. There's no fixed weekly box, no auto-renewing card authorisation, and no recipe cards. Each route is a one-off reservation with one farmer. You order only what you want, only the weeks you want it.

What does it cost to participate?

You pay the farmer's listed price for the items plus PickNDeal's service fee (shown transparently before you confirm). There's no membership, no setup fee, and no subscription. The farmer receives their listed price directly via Stripe Connect; PickNDeal never holds the farmer's payout.

Where do I collect my order?

Pickup depends on the farmer's route: either delivered to your door, to a shared neighbourhood pickup point, or to a restaurant's address if you're ordering as a business. The specific pickup arrangement is shown on the route detail page before you reserve.

How do I join as a farmer or producer?

Sign up on the waitlist with the role "Farmer / producer" and your postcode. We'll be in touch about getting started in your area. All producers go through a brief admin approval before their first route can be announced — that ensures consumers and restaurants know who they're buying from.

Are there dietary labels (keto, vegan, gluten-free, organic)?

Inferred-class dietary tags (keto, vegan, vegetarian, low-carb, dairy-free) are admin-approved labels you can filter by on the marketplace. Certified-class tags (gluten-free, organic) are EU-regulated — we only show "organic" when the farmer holds Ø-mærket certification, never via AI inference. See the keto meal-kit page for an example.

What if the route doesn't meet the minimum?

Each route has a minimum order value set by the farmer (typically DKK 800–1,500). If the threshold isn't reached before reservations close, all reservations are refunded automatically via Stripe — you pay nothing, and the farmer doesn't run an uneconomic route. You can share the route's link with neighbours to help reach the threshold.
